Description

The listing, Malva, qty 10 seeds has ended.

Someone--a lovely Listia person whom I never got the chance to thank, so I'll do it now. Thanks!-- told me the name of my mystery plant. It's a Malva. This makes sense. I pilfered some seeds a few years back to grow these on my cat Zebrina's grave and here it is growing in USDA zone 5b, pretty as you please.

It’s a perennial, 2-3 feet tall but rather spindly and tends to sprawl on the ground. The flowers are profuse and pretty-as-a-picture! A pale pink, with darker pink veining and the foliage is unique and fern-like. Over-all a very sweet little plant which seems to like to spread and self-sow so you’ll always have it.

As soon as a verified address is supplied to me, I will ship out the next business day~unless unforeseen events prevent this, of course.

All Listia rules apply, of course. Please think and be quite certain you want these before you bid. I can’t ignore bids once they are posted. If you bid and win regardless of buyer’s remorse, I’m keeping the credits. You have been warned.

How many seeds usually grow out of the ten, and what climate and watering habits are needed? :)

I couldn't really say how many out of the 10 would germinate. It's all iffy--if the right conditions are met, if it's warm enough, if they get enough sun, if you don't allow them to dry out. No way of knowing for sure, but if I took a guess, at least half. Where I live we get ample rain so I never water my garden, unless the plants look wilty. I think these are average-dry when it comes to water.

I live in the Mountains of PA so it gets rather cold, and these make it fine here. It doesn't get blisteringly hot in summer either.
