Description

The listing, Great little knife brand new in the box. has ended.

This is a great little knife. It's called a Drop blade Patch knife. This is brand new, never used, in the box. This has a good feel in the hand. The handle is some kind of burl wood and the sheath is geuine leather. The blade is not stamped any where. I'm assumi ng it's some sort of stainless or high carbon steel. It has a great sharp edge. Not sure what a drop blade patch knife is used for ( I know what the drop blade means ), but I think it makes an excellent every day carry, hunting or what ever you choose. It's small and rugged. All Listia rules apply. Must be verified address. If you bid and win and you are not verified you will forfeit your credits. NO EXCEPTIONS. You must be 18 years of age to bid, win and receive this item, NO EXCEPTIONS. Free shipping to the lower 48 states only. No shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, Canada or over seas. It's too expensive and too much hassle, sorry.

its called a patch knife cause back when black powder was the only type of gun you had 2 cut a patch of cloth 2 put in the barrel along with the bullet so hunters ,soldiers anyone shooting a lot would wear a small sharp knife usually around there neck that was easy 2 get to & only used to cut patches for there guns so it needed 2 be small & easy 2 get in & out also gives the reason for that style sheath cause you cant keep your all purpose big knife razor sharp there called the patch knife

Fullerfamily is correct, my father is a reenactor pre 1840 and shoots a flintlock muzzleloader. He carries a neck knife similar to this that is razor sharp. His neck knife is only used for patches, and kept very sharp to cut patches quickly and cleanly. I am watching this auction for a gift for him for Fathers Day.
