Questions & Comments
hmm, wonder how that got out without any logo? The round circle in the center was usually filled with a logo, like a car company, or maybe the buyer's initials, on a round disk that I guess they glued or soldered in place. That one doesn't look like it lost the logo, but that it never had one. I guess a guy could buy them that way back then oh it's probably late thirties or maybe late forties vintage. Not many were made during th war years, materials went for the war effort.
Crazy, I will look and see if I overlooked something when I get home. I got it from an estate sale with manyyyyyyyy antique things so I have no doubt of the authenticity, but I will look closer.
Upon further research I have found that is where they used to customize their lighter with things such as coins, etc. I found several pictures with it blank like mine, with a coin in its place, I even found one with a round token of an eagle. So I think they were manufactured that way. Still a great find have fun
