This is a large necklace and very fancy and stylish. There are 8 large dendritic opals, very handsome, each one with a large Paris Blue Quartz gemstone. Each of the opal pieces are a bit over 1.25" long cut in an oval shape. The blue quartz are also cut. Sorry, I don't know the name of the way they are cut. Very sparkly. This is definitely a piece that will get you lots of admiring comments. I've never seen another one like it. The pics show it from the front and from the back.

Dendritic Opal is not, strictly speaking, "opal". This mineral is called Dendritic Opal because A. Melody in "Love Is In The Earth: A Kaleidoscope Of Crystals" called it dendritic opal because of the opalescence (chatoyancy) in the white quartzite, and the manganese (moss like) dendrites. It's mineral name is "Merlinite".

This mineral has some VERY interesting metaphysical properties. I encourage you to check them out in "Love Is In The Earth:.... A. Melody, or "The Crystal Bible" by Judy Hall.

I will not spoil your surprise but I will just say I can FEEL the mineral working on my energy body (aura) within seconds AFTER I pick up a piece of Merlinite.

I was told the chain was sterling, and it is marked .925. It does look sterling and it is not magnetic. I'm pretty sure the settings are not sterling, though they too are not magnetic. At least, they don't look sterling to me.
