The one I saw at Walmart was similar to this one but not the exact one, but I have been known to be wrong before. I just found it difficult to find the exact same one I have other than the listing on Amazon. Thanks for the heads up though. :^)

This item is to be able to get fast wireless internet. But you will have to have a personal access spot (like cable internet) available to be able to actually have internet.

does it have a driver on a disk? i mean it states to plug it in to your computer and windows will automatically download the setup files but what if you need the adapter first to go online? just asking....

That's the dilemma I'm currently having. I cannot use the item because I was borrowing internet from a friends connection. But since I had no direct connection to the internet I could not install the files necessary to install the driver. But if you have a router in your home that is connected to the internet then you would just connect your computer directly to your router and then insert this drive so that the installation can be complete. Once that's done, you can disconnect your computer from your router and have extremely fast wireless internet.

Unfortunately this website is for a similar but not exactly the same as the item I have here so, being semi-tech savvy, I know that all programs even very similar ones are extremely different when it comes to tech questions, so I don't think this website would help although I do believe it is the same manufacturer.

If this is the AE1000 this IS the driver for it. Its the very same driver im using on my AE1000. The one on the page is simply sitting on the optional stand. Which I dont not have and doesnt look like you have either.
