A three year old can definitely use this. My daughter used it for two years and she is going to be four in a couple of weeks. Now, her older siblings have 'big kid' game systems and she spends her time trying to steal those from them:) Once you show/explain how to do it, she will get the hang of it in no time. I really liked it because they have games that actually teach children, so they are having fun and learning simultaneously. Fanned you back!

@ kschiedenhelm My son just turned 3 and he uses one. His favorite game right now is the Pet Pals but it's good to get it early and let him get use tot he controls. That way he/she is ready for the learning games. :)
