The listing, Vintage Glass Bottles has ended.

These are very old. They all have plug lids. I think they may have been medicine bottles. I will clean them up nicely when they are shipped.

Nothing but what looks likea Julian Dates on the bottom. If I am reading them correctly the date is the 75th day of 1915. But I could be wrong.

yeah alot of coins but there is alot of metal out there. The old farmer burned a few times so at the bottom the it is full of stuff im sure after a while though you can tell he got old to care for it and it built and built. I found glass gatorade bottles I thought that was cool.Anyway the copper is what i've banked the most out there I have a aluminum pile, but I have just grazed the top but I do it by myself while waching my son and dog and looking out for snakes and spiders that are all in that stuff which i'm not scared of but the number of them to me in that giant bowl shaped pit makes it not worth it to do it, especially in the summer.

Thanks. And I do love it though it still has some lead paint in it and has zero insulation. It hard to keep it warm in winter, we have a wood burning stove and a couple of electric heaters this year I will be prepared.

I recently moved into a very old farm house, the farmer dug out a pit to burn stuff in. It is loaded down with stuff because he never got around to burning it before he died. I got permission from from landlord which is the farmers grandson to let me scrap it. I made alot of cash from all the copper that I have found
(which is going for 3.50 a lb) but also alot of vintage items. These I found in a box along with a set of Carvel Ice cream Cups.

Jun 30th, 2011 at 7:49:56 AM PDT by

yep, they are glass and plug like a couple are plastic. The remind me of old pefume bottles that had the lids that you use to apply some or smaller versions of those pretty glass bottles that you buy to store your expensive scotch in like the movies. You know what I am taling about?

Thanks for the info. And one more q(bases, ya know? :P ), do you know how much they hold in ounces? Three of them look larger than the others you have there. They are all really awesome, though! :)

Bases: rarely get them all covered, or even more than one, but like the little engine, I always think I can, even if it's not smart. ;)

Farmhouses: that's what I'm afraid of, if ever I had the opportunity to get one, that it'd be a money pit. And the fixed up ones, will be too rich for our blood for awhile, prob. 'til we're old, but maybe some day, we'll be able to get a fixer upper we'll be able to afford to fixer up. :D WTG on being prepared, though!! Bet ya have a half dozen fans for the hot and humid FL summer, too.

RaeNae... I'm thinking if you will toss some Moth Balls in that pit, you will run off the snakes.
+1
Jul 4th, 2011 at 5:26:16 PM PDT by
Original
really? I will do that. They is one snake inparticular that I would really like to run off, he is big, mean and poisonous i'm not sure what he is though, not a rattler for sure. It would be nice to be able to continue to dig through that stuff, its just to dangerous. If I or heaven forbid my son were to get bit by something deadly. The pit is at least 15 acres away from my house I don't think we would make it.

thanks for the info. I noticed your screen name. I was hoping I could find someone w/ some knowledge. I found a set of 4 of Carvel sundae cups. They are plastic, small like a kids size, with detachable yellow plastic bottoms(like those plastic cham. cups) and the Carvel Logo. The unique thing about these is it has an contents list factory stamped on the plastic bottom. They must have been a prepacked Carvel item and the cups were saved to get a set. The contents were; ice cream, color added, fruit and/or syrup,and/or nut topping. It on there just like that.I haven't done any reserach on them I need to. They may be worth something.

Very cool. I love all things vintage, as you can probably tell! LOL You're a better woman than I am...I HATE snakes and anything with a lot of legs that bite, have poisonous venom, etc...I'd still have to find a way to get into that pit. I'm not a girly girl who would scream and run, well, I'd scream for sure, but I'd find a way to get into that pit!!! LOL Sounds like fun except for the creepy crawlies!!

I went out there last night right as the son was disappering and you could just see to walk, which is what I was doing. I was just walking la,la,la,laaaaa and the I felt my foot step on something it made a hiss I looked down and it was a good sized black snake of some sort it was to dark to tell,i'm no wimp but that startled the poop out of me,i've never made it that fast across that field before.

We had a snake in a storage building & they told us to toss in a hand full of moth balls and it would run them off, and we never saw him again... so I'm guessing that worked...

I found some books online & in the library but like with everything else things are only worth what you can get for them. For example something may appraise for 50.00 but can you even get 5 for it? Certain colors are rarer.
