The listing, Antique Repoussé Sterling Silver YoYo has ended.

Antique Repoussé Sterling Silver YoYo
Engraved "JOE" on one side
Marked "L.S.M. Sterling Cover - Steel Body" on both halves
Weighs 67.8 grams
Measures 1.25" tall x 2" diameter

As far as I can see there are no dents in it.
It has not been cleaned.
Tests positive for 925 Sterling Silver.
Has the string inside it (antique germs and all lol)

FYI This is not an antique. It was produced by Gorham in 1970's to '80's

For YOUR information, NO this is NOT made by "GORHAM". This was made by L.M.S. Silversmiths. (if you read the auction or looked at the photos you would see it is MARKED "L.M.S.".

Four different companies made Repoussé Sterling Silver Yo-Yo's.

Gorham, mainly in the 20's and 30's but also more in the 70's
L.M.S. in the 30's and 40's
Alvin Corporation in the 50's and 60's
and later Tiffany & Co. came out with theirs in the 80's and 90's.
Asprey & Garrard's of London also came out with one in 2001.
I'm sure other Jeweler's came out with them as well.
They are more for a "heirloom" than a "toy".

So yes, I have done my research. This is NOT by Gorham.

Tiffany and Co. also made a solid sterling silver yo-yo that I saw at an auction recently... In the past few years, due to high prices of gold and silver, a lot of very unique items showing great craftsmanship have been lost to being scrapped and melted.

Yes Tiffany & Co. among many other Silversmiths have made Sterling Silver yo-yo's but none of them have been "solid" sterling silver. Just the body of the the yo-yo is sterling silver.
