Description

The listing, Antique clown whirligig, folk art has ended.

What a cool item, certainly old...this has retained most of it's original paint of red, yellow and blue, and is only decorated on the one side..stands 9 3/4 in high, base is 7 1/4 in long..at one time it held something in its hands by the holes there, that was attached
from the back as a hole there too indicates, perhaps making a juggling motion...still a great piece to display..I will consider a get it now offer, but not below the starting bid

Not on the bottom? Look carefully! It could be scratched into the wood somewhere

Nails are a good indicator of age.

Nice! I know it's hard to know all of the prices, but again this one looks good to me(lol!) if you have time it's good to do some research first. This could be a Jumping Jack (dances on a board you sit on) or it could have been part of an Antique sign post . Skinner Auctions (Boston and now Marlborough Mass I think sells a lot of Antique early American Whirligigs , signs, Jumping Jacks ect. same with your cast iron pieces. Early Americana can get very big bucks
