The listing, Beautiful REAL GOLD w Diamond! Black Hills Gold Necklace 10K and 12K gold Pendant has ended.

I have another beautiful Black Hills Gold necklace for auction! (I have matching BHG earrings in another auction too!)

This is a necklace with a lovely rose and two leaves set on a swirling gold background. The pendant is 3/4" long with a beautiful diamond chip in the rose.
This piece is in excellent condition. If you look very closely you can see a few minor marks on it, but nothing that would be noticeable without close inspection, and a jeweler could buff it for you.

What makes a piece of jewelry Black Hills Gold? It has the unique traditional design comprised of pink and green gold leaves, gold grape clusters and vines and it must, by law, be manufactured in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
How are the green and pink-colored gold leaves made? Pure 24 karat yellow gold is alloyed with silver to create the vibrant green, and is alloyed with copper to make the dazzling pink. The resulting alloy is a more durable 12 karat gold.
What karat is Black Hills Gold? Nearly all pieces, regardless of manufacturer, are comprised of 10 karat yellow gold (ring shanks, pendant and earring bases), 12 karat pink and green gold (leaves, roses, hearts, butterflies etc..), 14 karat gold earring posts and complimentary gold-filled (1/20 12 karat) 18" chains for pendants.

The clasp is stamped 14K GF, and I can not find a stamp on the pendant. It is classic BHG colors, design, and style. I will see if I can get it to a jeweler and get an appraisal before the auction is over to set your mind at ease.

OK, I had it tested today and the rose and all of the leaves are 12 karat gold. The backing (gold swirl part) did not test as gold.

You said 14K Gf...Is that mean 14K Gold Filled, the chain?? That is really strange that the appraisal and jeweler tested the rose and all leaves are 12 KT Gold and the backing of the swirl isn't gold which it should be all gold. I'm a Black Hills Gold person and I have a ring that I have had for 12 yrs is all silver with rose and leaves are gold front n back. My family has lots of BHG, not one jewelry that is not gold if backing isn't. I just asked my grandmother who is expert on BHG, she said it's all gold, front n back. With .925 silver BHG jewelry is all silver with gold leaves and rose. If that helps, ask other jeweler for their test opinions inseatd one. =)

I thought that was really weird too, that the swirl did not test as gold, but that is what she told me. It may be worth getting a second opinion.
As for the chain it is common to get a gold filled chain with a BHG pendant.
