This is a brand new Stamps.com 5 pound digital scale. This is one of two I placed on Listia because for some reason they will not connect to my computer (Vista 32 bit) and Stamps.com let me keep them and I got a 10 pound scale instead. Includes a USB cord to connect the scale to your computer.

They work fine when connected to my XP computer and I know others who have Vista and use them, but you may want to contact Stamps.com to make sure they'll work with your OS before bidding. Please, I am not responsible if you do not do this before bidding. See FYI below for the switch color and batch # you'll need.

***I will also send you the link to download the unlock software so you can use this WITHOUT having to have a Stamps.com account.*** You can then use this scale as a standalone that weighs in pounds, ounces and tenths of an ounce.

ok. im pretty dumb, but i have a serious question. with this scale, you can put the exact weights on usps and print the shipping labels and have them pick up the packages from home correct? so no more running to the post office, standing in line forever? you do everything at home.

Yes. Absolutely. You can use it for USPS through printing postage via PayPal for free or any other online system where you just need the weight of the package to print postage. Just make sure, as stated in the descr., that this will work with your OS.

Nope. Doesn't need instructions - you just plug in the USB cord from the scale to the computer. That's it!

I guess this will be my stupid question of the day-sorry. Do u still need a working printer to print the postage and label or does this somehow do it. My printer is out of ink-has 6 cartridges and 3 are empty but I cant just replace the back-its ghetto and will only work as long as none are empty-lol.

This model does not print labels. Here's a tip though... you can use regular (not india) waterproof ink to refill your cartridges through a hole in the top for many printer models. Though some printer manufacturers (like Lexmark on certain models) have their cartridges programmed not to "notice" when they are refilled. Though evidently there are still ways to "reset" the cartridge by use of electrical tape. You may want to do some searches online. I print a *lot* of postage, which takes a lot of ink, and have only replaced my cartridges once in the past two years and purchased one bottle of ink :)
