Ernie Banks is a Baseball Hall of Fame member. He is a member of the 500 homerun club. He might just be the best Cubs player of all time! He is also very hard to get a signature from and I am sure that the winner of this auction will enjoy the card!

Signature was obtained through an request through the mail or TTM as many autograph collectors call it. This card is not a certified autograph and has no COA. I have been collecting autographs in person and through the mail for over 20 years and I have thousands of signed items. I am going to list a few that I have doubles of to see how they go and may post up more depending on the results. I have no idea of the cash value of the cards or the $$ value of the signatures. Please do not ask me as I have collected for fun and would have no clue on the value. Get It Now on these auctions will not be offered as I want to see if there is any demand on Listia for these types of items. Assuming these go well tell me if you have a favorite team as I may have something to list that you would be interested in. Thanks for looking at my auctions and thanks for those who fan me as well.

Yahoo had a list of things you did not know about him and this one got me
:"As a 19-year-old, Banks signed with the Kansas City Monarchs of the Negro Leagues in 1950. After serving two years in the U.S. Army and spending time with the Harlem Globetrotters, Banks would come back to baseball. When he debuted with the Cubs in 1953, he was the first black player in franchise history. "

Never knew about his service or the Globetrotters.

I have another card autographed by him in my collection. It has been cool to be able to share some of my collection with fellow Listians and to be honest I have been picking up other cards on here to get signed for the points and do not have to purchase them. That saves me some cash.

Crunch time as this round of autos are about done.
