Description

The listing, Watch & Record TV on your PC: KWorld HDTV TV Box VS-ATSC 310U USB 2.0 has ended.

This is an external TV tuner that lets you watch and record TV in HD (ATSC) format.

I got it in supposedly working condition, but could not get it running on a linux machine.

Then again, the officially supported drivers and software are for Windows, so perhaps that's the only type of OS on which it works.

Full specs are available here: http://bit.ly/pCYgI4

Shipping (U.S. only) should range between $2.41 and $4.95, depending on your address.

Can I utilize this to record footage from a video game console? And also, any chance of free shipping?

Sorry, I can't send it for free.

I'm not sure you can use it with a game console unless you can virtualize a Windows OS, since it seems the only drivers available are for Windows.

As I mentioned above, I tried to get it running in linux, but w/o success.

@forester200 -- sorry, I misread your question about the game console.

There are 2 types of inputs you can feed into it, an s-Video, and a composite connection.

The manual describes those as for use by home video camera input (i.e., to playback things you've recorded on your pc), but it might work for game video input as well, it you want to record a game you're playing.

Having said that, though, it'll depend on whether or not your console supports video out via s-video or the other connector.

I haven't tried this myself.

Due to the ship weight of 1.5lb it is best to use $5.20 Priority MailĀ® Small Flat Rate Box.

Supports Windows XP (SP2) out of the box.

I was planning to send it using a slower, cheaper rate, but if the winner wants it by priority mail, I can do that.

I'm not sure if it'll all fit in a small box, though, so it may have to be sent using the medium one.

I used to use a pcHDTV HD-3000 card, but I recently switched to the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1250 which is also supported under linux: http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-HVR-1250

Before I bought the HVR-1250, though, I'd hoped this one would work for me.

Using any tv tuner card for video gaming is not recommended - the delay makes it impossible to play the game
