It is Alloy and white gold plated. If you have a necklace that is something you can wear already , you could put this on it. The chain is made out of the same. I have allergy's too any thing fake that goes in my ears will cause them to get infected. It did not seem to make my daughter react as she has one that is blue. But everyone is different and it depends on what your allergy is too. I have reacted to things that are stamped as hypoallergenic but then other times I am fine and also I can wear costume jewelry as a charm and necklace or ring but it really depends on what it is, on if i react or not but my ears will react to anything fake. I will be getting 925 silver necklaces soon and I have a few of my own I use to put charms or what not on. This chain is very sturdy and long so it would hang to where its not touching your neck the charm Im not sure if its a charm lol as its bigger then most and omg it is shinny and sparkles so very pretty. Its not verified as hypoallergenic but the with it being white gold plated it would be the white gold touching skin

Butterflies and dragonflies are my favorite and purple is my favorite color. I too have Fibromyalgia. It is not a fun ailment to deal with - very painful. I struggle every day and force myself to keep going. I could very easily give in and be bedridden but I won't go there. I have medical issues a mile long and am on so many medications it is ridiculous. It is truly a miracle that I am able to function at all and hold a full time job. I am going to try to win this as so many others are doing. I wish your daughter all the luck in the world. It is not an easy thing to deal with. My issues are nothing compared to your daughter's problems. God bless your family.

Thank you and bless you and your family too. You are strong and it is a blessing and miracle you are able to go on as you have. My daughter has her good days and she gets her hopes up of it all going away on those good days. Its complex we each are able to deal with illness best we can. I know my daughter is on to many medications. I hope we can cut back some because side effects are always there. Good luck on this pretty one. I plan to have more and find different ones as time goes by. Thank you and you take care , stay strong and take it one day at a time!

I wish I could bid. I don't have enough credits unfortunately. Lupus and Fibro run in my family. And at 19 I've just been diagnosed by my neurologist in December with the worst case of fibro he's ever seen in someone my age. Makes it super hard to cope. :( I used to run track & now it's hard to walk across the room......

Thank you yes its not fun at all. I wish I could take it all from her and make her better and pain free. When you have combined illness like you her and many have it makes life even that much more harder. She keeps telling me mom I wish I would of got this when I was older so I could of lived life a little. She is limited on food seems like now everything is making her hurt to where she dose not like eating any more because its painful if her body rejects it. Combating 3 health issues at 19 that just hit her when she was a little under 17 has been just tore me up too. No one in my state knows about her mast cell issue or understands it to where I have had to do all the research because its so rare even I had hard time. But I know I when the fibro hit that is when it went over my head. Its like if she gets stressed or upset it could send her into a flair and histamine reaction to where she has to take a steroid inhaler because her she is literately robbed of air and blood pressure drops and heart pulse goes up to 130 resting. Her heart rate today has been over 100 and sorry I been up over 24 hours. Insomnia rules my life. I want to thank you and will fan you back. No flairs are not fun for her and for me it hurts my hear as I can not hold her and comfort her because it hurts her to be touched or hugged so when it happens there is not much I can do except talk her through it when she needs me.

So many on listia have chronic illnesses and I feel great to be able to offer charms to brighten up life's also bring awareness of other illness not only from me but other fellow listian's that are able to share and you never know friendships may form. I'm going to keep doing this but also find other charms and stuff. Facebook has many good groups that have so many caring people with fibro and many other illness if you want a list of the groups that are great i can post them in here. I know they help me help my daughter even tho i do not have fibro.

A few of the Websites I look on do not include MSA. That is why I try to let people know it exists. Thanks for reminding me about the other diseases that purple represents. Have a wonderful day!

Mastocytosis is also rare, its a orphaned which means that not many people have it. She has to be on strict diet that until she get disability has took a toll on us both. But no matter what if she eats something that her Mastocytosis dose not like it causes her to react it could be just major sharp pain in tummy to low blood pressure and heart rate over 130 and problems with breathing to were her stats with o2 go way down. She has chemical reactions and things like bht is foods can hurt her bad. Everything that i know before this is gone as. we still have hard time due to natural food being high cost then if you want food worth eating you have to buy from the web. She cant have fake anything in food, if she dose it hurts her. Even on a natural diet she is limited because she reacts to every type of milk. We use soy as its bad in histamine for her but all the others on igg test showed high to where it causes her trouble. Hardly no nuts and meat only chicken and turkey. Veggies some but not all and fruits the same way. The poor girl wanted to eat chocolate but the last time she did it made her react so this time she just put some in her mouth tasted it and spit it out. Its odd this all hit her on the lasts months of 17. And was full blown by 18. She wears scrubs because they are light and do not cause her to hurt. I tell you with the fibro and this its like scary.I learned so much from her explaining everything to me she goes through because she has severe anxiety and I have to speak for her most times. I will look up Msa and put it on my facebook page as I know rare stuff is scary for all involved because there is not alot of info you can look up and we have no body that specializes in what she has in this state and then only a select few that maybe even understand how hers affects her with it being in her tummy. any how if you need groups for msa I can research and find you some good ones and any good ones on facebook i can find them to. I like helping people.

Purple is also the color for MSA. And March is MSA awareness month. MSA stands for multiple system atrophy. It is a incurable degenerative brain disease that is pretty rare. It is not as well-known as fibromyalgia and lupus – that's why I try to get People aware it exists. The butterfly is beautiful! Much luck on the auction!

The purple ribbon is tied to many Both Lupus and Fibro share the purple ribbon but also Crohns Disease, Alzheimer's, Domestic Violence and Chronic Pain share the purple ribbon just as many other diseases share ribbon colors. I got this from a website!! People relate to the way the butterfly comes about also from what I read.

Wow, a lot of us have Fibro. Three years ago I became disabled due to Fibro and two back injuries. I had two back surgeries and might be facing a third. I go and get injections to calm the pain in my back but it does not help for Fibro. I do have some medications for both problems, two are narcotics. As kellyetta said so well, one day at a time!! Great necklace. Did you just decide to make the butterfly a symbol for Fibro & Lupus on your own or did an organization choose this as a symbol? Just wondering if it is a united front that everyone will know when they see you wearing it?? Thanks!

The purple butterfly is the symbol for both- my daughter suffers from a rare condition called mastocytosis. Its even rarer for her because its in her tummy. She ended up with fibro after and I though mast cell was hard to deal with this combo is like nothing I ever seen. She can only take Tramadol as her insurance right now has no pain management nor other treating help that she needs is not under it. So she deals with pain from fibro and pain in her bones with high inflammation and joints and tummy pain that makes her feel like she is dying. Got this from a website- The butterfly is embraced as a symbol of Fibromyalgia awareness. Soft as breath, nearly weightless, it is an excellent allegory to the impact even the lightest touch has on a Fibromyalgia patient. When a fellow Fibrate states hugging their child hurts too bad they can't do it, it breaks my heart. A major symptom of Fibromyalgia is sensory sensitivity. Not only touch, but sound, sight, smell, taste and feelings at times can all become extremely oversensitive. This is a real symptom, but is often discounted. When my husband says something unoffensive in a short tone and I burst into tears, I know that whatever Fibromyalgia neurologically does to exacerbate sensitivity, well, it's happening to me. Same with five people talking to me at once, music I don't like playing way too loud and the immediately necessary removal of the bra I am certain is cutting and burning into my flesh, making my skin crawl.

I have Fibro and and my Aunt had and died from Lupus, so this item is just so beautiful. I wanted to let you know that if you have a Paypal account, and if you sign up for Stamps.com it will tell you exactly how much it will cost and the winners on your auctions will pay for the shipping vis Paypal, Stamp.com is great for shipping your packages to your US winners and is quite a bit cheaper to send. All you need is a printer, and you can just use plain white paper to print all your shipping labels, and you purchase your postage off the app you must download onto your computer, and Tracking is always free. But anyway just go to Stamps.com and check it out, it's has been a life saver for me!!

Hello...if your winner is from Canada let them know that it will take time to arrive. Most of my stuff from this site take at least 2-3 weeks to arrive, so let them know to be patience. I personally do not mind but some people are very impatient. Very gorgeous pendant.
