this is a tight tv buht i lost points can some one tell me y
Hi keiichi. You're not allowed to edit an auction after it has bids on it. We're working on a way to allow the auction owner to add pics in a separate section.
To Listia: I don't understand yours formulation "US only ... sorry." This server is for US users only? Free shipping is for US users only? Rewards Auctions are for US users only? If is yours answer three times no, pls specify shipping to Czech Republic (to Europe). Or are you considering nonUS users as secondrate?
Haha this whole site is an awesome idea! Listing all my old stuff; it's great! Keep getting outbid by techcrunch... wonder what their proxy-bid is. I better list some more stuff if I want this TV haha
If Listia is really geared toward auctioning "free" stuff (that's another issue), then proxy bidding only hurts the bidders.
The rules should be:
1) No proxy bids - you want an item, you spend the time to bid on it (part of the excitement of a REAL auction is the last-minute action);
2) Implement a "Going once... going twice..." approach that would work like this: An auction initially has a set expire date/time. One minute before the end, we get a "Going once...". Thirty seconds before we get a "Going twice..." If no other bids come in before the expire time, the auction ends. If a bid is placed after "Going once" or "Going twice" , the one-minute clock is reset.
This idea, and everything else I've ever said, is copyrighted. Full Rights Reserved. In other words, if you adopt my suggestions, I want a boatload of free credits!
hi chefster, you can't cancel an auction once there are bids on it. part of the fun of an auction is to sell it at whatever people want to pay for it. we are, however, looking into putting "start bid" back into the auction form. follow us on twitter for instant updates.
"since there is no way to set a minimum bid can I cancell an auction? or not accept a final bid I believe is too low?" I'm having similar problem with the low bids. These guys are still awesome though, they'll fix this quick.
ya we understand where you guys are coming from. we're currently reviewing the addition of "start bid" back to the auction form. you guys don't mind too much form clutter though? last thing we'd want is 15 pages of input fields JUST to list an auction.
Forget the minimum bid idea; the tagline is auctions for free stuff." There are other auction sites out there if you're just trying to sell stuff.
As for the sniping issue, the auction should end when it's supposed to. Proxy bid the maximum credits you want to spend. If you're outbid at the last second then it was worth more than you were willing to pay anyway...
Listia -- even with 5 more fields it's going to be a lot less cluttered than ebay. Some important things like minimum bid and length of auction are worth it.
One alternative is to have the regular listing with no clutter and then have it expand into advanced mode for the additional options.
Since this seems to be a question forum also...What are the different ranks and how do you achieve them? ie. new user, trusted user, listia ambassador...?
new users are users w/o any feedback, trusted users (right now) are users with 100% positive feedback and ambassadors are users that have helped us flag auctions for deletion. these definitions may change slightly as time goes on, but right now this is what they are. for instance we may have a different name for a user with 100% feedback.
randino64 oh watching items, sounds like a cool feature to have, go vote for it on the listia user voice page http://listia.uservoice.com/pages/22829-general?lang=en&utm_campaign=Widgets&utm_content=tab-widget&utm_medium=widget&utm_source=listia.uservoice.com
