FREE: Very Old US postage stamp, 3c Washington from 1861!

The listing, Very Old US postage stamp, 3c Washington from 1861! has ended.

Up for auction is a REALLY old US stamp-- it's a 3c rose (brownish rose?) George Washington from 1861! I'm not an expert but as best I can tell, it's a color shade of Scott number 65 so definitely a "better" stamp. It is in used condition with a reasonable "cork" type cancel. The back has a small pencil number and there are no obvious faults that I could see.

Here's the bigger scoop: My mom and stepdad both passed away a few years ago, and I've been going through some of their old stuff-- they were both dedicated "savers" of everything. In some ways, I guess they were borderline "hoarders." My stepdad accumulated stamps, and this is from his collection-- although it's more like a giant pile of messy album pages and envelopes.

I think people should have fun bidding on stuff-- that's what auctions are all about! So the starting bids for my stuff will always be is FIVE credits, and we go from there, no matter HOW valuable something might be.
