Description

The listing, VHS Movie "American History X" has ended.

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen! Stars Edward Norton, Edward Furlong, Stacy Keach, Beverly D' Angelo, Elliott Gould and Fariruza Balk. Personally, I just love Edward Norton, a really superb actor. "Edward Norton gives a blistering, brilliant performance" (Rolling Stone). "American History X jumps off the screen with a power and impact matched by few films" (The Boston Globe). At amazon.com its rating is into five stars, five stars being the most stars available, the top! This is a ground-breaking controversial drama. Bought new and saw it only once as my VCR went on the blink. If one has the electronics this film can be transferred to DVD, though it's just as good on VHS. Frankly, I hate giving it up and risking getting only 100 credits when it's worth 5000, but I'm doing an all-over-the house decluttering: why keep something I can't watch. In the original slipcase which is also like new. Running time is 119 minutes. Free Shipping!

I noticed you had and I appreciate it! When someone fans me I always fan them back too, feel it's the courteous thing to do. I think Listia should remove badges for the fans one has as that encourages people to fan others they have no knowledge of, in the hope they'll be fanned back and get badges. (That includes me.) It makes having fans meaningless as one way to assess another members credibility. That's my opinion anyway. I hope you don't unfan me!

It's true, it is my opinion, the way I feel about people deserving to be rewarded if they are nice enough to fan me. This is the second VHS cassette I've put up for auction and the first went for only 100 credits and I had to pay shipping, sob, but I think they're worth listing as many people still have working VCRs and would welcome getting some good cassettes. Of course, what constitutes 'good' is also a matter of opinion. This cassette is extremely, exceptionally good. The reviews I cited at the auction are spot on. I'm sincere about hating to give it up, it's one of the very few movies I have seen that I wanted to keep. I've enjoyed many movies in my life but to want to keep one is very rare for me. Edward Norton is an incredible actor!

Have you looked for it on DVD? The movies I have on VHS is little house on the prairie and I don't know if I will ever give them up...I think I am only missing one or two seasons out of all of them.. I would like to get a machine that will take them off of VHS and put them all on DVDs for me...But until then I will keep them.

Hi, Sorry about the bother but when I replied to your email I did it on the auction page and ever since whenever I log on, Listia tells me I need to reply when I've already done it! In frustration seeing this need to reply again for 3 days, I'm replying to you again to get rid of the darn thing! Sorry about that! :)) Nadja

No, haven't looked for it yet on DVD but am going to ASAP. Sounds like a good idea, to transfer your cassettes to DVD. :))

Oh noooooooo....now I have to reply again, LOL, to get it from nagging me every time I scroll down the list of my chores at Listia, you know, the stuff on the left of one's home page. It's OK, even becoming comic....

Thanks...I'm assuming you too saw it. It is in the top 5 of the best movies I've ever seen. I'm a real movie buff and have seen so many I couldn't begin to figure out the number, even ball park, but it's a lot! If one likes thrillers and suspense, done exceedingly well, they will love this movie too.
