Thanks. :) I'm a huge fan of the Earthbound series, just have an extra one of these. I really wish that Mother 2 were in full English, though! Really a drag that no one ever did a high-quality translation of it (that I can find) for this particular version.
I've been wanting to play through all of them but I can't get my hands on them. I think I heard something about them going to the Eshop on the wii U though.
You should play through them for sure. There are reproductions you can get but the eShop will be cheaper for sure. If this one goes well, I actually have an extra Mother 3 cart as well that I'll likely list.
Fingers crossed for you! I want everyone to play these games if at all possible. You'll still want to find a better way to play Earthbound (Mother 2) in my opinion, though.
Haha. Good luck... I sold mine when they were still going for $70-100ish... now they go for like $150-200. Maybe you'll find it in the wild some day. Some folks make reproductions of the SNES version called "Earthbound Uncut," which is a full English translation meant to better represent the original Japanese version. Look up "chipmasters earthbound uncut" on Google. I've bought from them several times with no problems.
The way the hobby has been going those deals are starting to disappear unfortunately. I have found some great stuff in the wild, but it's few and far between nowadays, at least for me. I see others doing well, but there's just too many collectors in my area now.
I did once buy a box of Sega Genesis consoles (9 of them), a Sega CD, two Sega 32x attachments, some rare Sega CD games, handful of NES games, and a ton of the wires and controllers for all the Sega stuff..... paid $30. Sold most of it (keeping some for myself) and netted like $350 even while giving out good deals to my buds that needed the stuff.
And another time I bought 16 NES games for $10 in an NES carrying case... most of the games were $5-10 value but it had a Battletoads / Double Dragon in there worth like $
I have found some really good stuff some being really rare but it seems like some people are becoming way more educated or you just can't find the good games anymore. I'm surprised how little I find of the popular games for gamecube, n 64, gameboy, and others. Like I rarely find a pokemon game, mario, or some of the others. It kinda sucks, but I do find other games that can be worth just as much but not the same :P
Problem with things like Mario, Pokemon, Zelda is that even folks that aren't into games know they're worth a little bit and will buy them to sell at full price.
