1869 PRINTING OF THE PROTESTANT EPISCOPAL COMMON PRAYER BOOK

This prayer book is leather bound. The book carries a forward from 1817 by the President of the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Pennsylvania stating that this volume is a valid version.

It was gifted to one Wayne L. Pryor of Wellsville, NY. and the signature of the gifter is there but I can't figure it out.

The title page has been torn at the top 1/5th of the page. There is writing on the inside cover and on the front and back of the facing page as well as the inside back cover.

The leather is original and is in very good to good condition from what I can see but it does have an approximate 2" piece missing from the top page protector portion. There is a small dog ear at the top of one page and a ribbon page marker that I doubt is as old as the book.

I have described this to the best of my ability but I am no expert. Please look at the pictures to determine condition for yourself.

The book measures 6" tall, 4" wide and just over an inch in depth and weighs about 12 ounces.

Someone took excellent care of this book and it is ready to find a new home.

Similar books are selling online in excess of $200 but that won't be the case here. This book needs a home where someone will appreciate it and pass it's history on.

I will start the auction at 20,000 and let you decide how much you think it is worth.
