Well, I sold & bought Vintage-(all types)-Clothing & accessories for years, for a store near DC. So, you learn different ways depending upon which type of item, it is.The RN # on the Label, as well as the Label itself, can help "narrow" the year very closely. Although the RN # cannot tell you when the shirt was made, there is a formula used~mathematical, to give you an Estimated Year of Issue. What it tells you is
the earliest date the garment could have been made. Some companies may keep the same RN # as long as they are in business. If something has an RN # of 13670 or higher, it cannot be older than 1959. The Label, on the shirt is Horizontal, and narrower than the "newer" more "square" Labels. The fabric of this shirt, has a lighter-weight twill look & feel, not all cotton. Other factors are; the Epaulets were no longer used in this way during the '70's. These older ones had either Red, or Navy Ribbon. The collar is a bit pointed & the stitching is basically single-stitched. So based on the above, and seeing many of these, it is most likely from the mid-late '60's. If I made any error, I would say 1970, at latest, but going with my best estimate date, I believe it is from the mid '60's. Thanks for the question!

thanks:) you know about 18 yrs ago, there were not quite the resources we now have, so much of the info on vintage clothing you had to try to get from others you might be competing with, a process. of course when you found a piece, sometimes you Just knew at a look there was something different about it. upon a closer look, I wouldn't part with it, for the money Too cool would wear them or it, until I was ready to sell! Take care:)
