LUCIFER FALLING STARS
Hard To Find! ~ Goth/Night Garden
Humming Bird Magnet!!
5 Ready To Plant & Fresh From The Garden Bulbs!

Ancient Greeks noted the dried flowers of this dramatic plant smelled of "saffron" and thus, the meaning of its proper name. Originating from South Africa and set against a backdrop of 3' tall green and distinctively forked leaves, these brilliant red-flamed blooms make a devilish showing in any cottage garden.

As these flowers do not close at night, they also make a great plant for Goth and/or Night Gardens!

Crocosmia Lucifer bulbs are easy to grow, simply plant bulb in the ground or pot: 3-4 times its width. The blooms return each season, usually doubling itself in a newly formed abundance of flowers. The good news is the bulbs tend to stay together as an ever growing bundle. The weight of new bulbs force the taller ones to bend over, giving the effect of "Falling Stars." The cuttings from this plant are long lasting and make beautiful arrangements.

Bulbs are fresh and can be planted anytime of the year.
FULL SUN IS A MUST
Zones: 5-8. These bulbs can be grown in colder climates but heavy mulching will be required.
Height: 36"

Hi Cathy! I think they're hard to find because mostly older and established gardens and gardeners have them, especially the Lucifer's Tears variety. Mine haven't bloomed yet but I have a few stragglers from the fountain bundle so I thought I would pull and transplant the bulbs (which are really corms) in a few other locations -- and of course offer a few to my garden bud's :)

I had 5 bulbs planted last but only one came up this year strong. Hoping it will produce a few off of it. I have some other kind and they are growing great.

Did you get them from me, Cathy? I can't remember if I listed any last season. Have you seen the new variety called "Fire" ...its a striking red hybrid.
