Description

The listing, Set of three handmade greeting cards - one of a kind - using vintage postage stamps and ephemera has ended.

I made these three blank-inside greeting cards using vintage used, cancelled postage from various non-US countries and vintage paper ephemera collected from ex-library books. The photos in this listing are scans of the front of the cards. The cards themselves were purchased at major retail stores -- the first one, with the rooster stamps, is kraft-paper colored and very heavy weight, blank inside, with a heavy weight matching envelope. The other two cards feature fairy tale themed and rooster stamps mounted on store-bought cards with a colorful rick-rack-like theme that reminded me a bit of the perforated edges of stamps. The pattern continues on the back of the card; the inside is blank, white: the envelope is a matching light red.

The first card measures 4.25" by 5.75." The other two are slightly smaller: 3.75" by 5.25."

I have a lot of fun collecting the materials and the inspiration for these cards and hope to pass it on to you.

Thanks for looking and thanks for your bids.

I do not like these as well as the fairy tale stamps, but I think what you have done is beautiful and I have opened the bidding and intend to win!

Thanks so much, Deb! I have a lot of fun making them. It's a somewhat sudden, unexpected obsession of mine, accumulating old foreign stamps and doing things with them.
