Lol no your definitely NOT crazy... there was NO WAY a buyer could bid without it showing you didn't have enough credits then give the pop up offer for you to buy more credits with your credit card.
Hopefully the listia creators will fix this error because it really sucks to have a long auction just so someone can waste all our time by bidding more than they have.

That sucks, I'm sorry that happened to you too. Two people just did that to me also.

It’s sad, listia was never like this before. I had my husband very excited to use this site now he wants me to quit because of more people not paying than are, and it is aggravating. I wrote the admin and said they shouldn’t let new people over bid anymore without a credit card on file or something.

What's definitely worse is that I can't even leave them negative feedback. It doesn't allow me too after the three days of waiting for pmt - no communication and then listia said I could cancel but the option to leave feedback isn't coming up.
It's like listia is protecting the deadbeat non payer by not allowing us sellers to leave feedback.
Maybe if we were allowed to leave neg feedback than they wouldn't be allowed to scam people.
It's frustrating.
But hopefully there's something better out there ☺☺

Yes! I literally wrote listia yesterday with all of these complaints, and the not being able to leave feedback is even worse when it’s trusted sellers doing this..

Your right it's sad. I use to tell e everyone about lista now I'm wondering if I should leave.
It's not right that people are allowed to overbid. Of my two that just ended one was won by a newbie and the other was someone who's been here a couple yrs.
I think I need to look for a similar site again.

If you find one please send it my way too! The admin said it’s always been like this (able to bid without credit/xnk). So why now is it such a problem? Why now can I go click 10,000xnk for a bid if I don’t have it and have no way of proving I can pay for it? If you wanted to over bid before you had to pay on the spot. Idk why they changed it, credits were fine!

I totally agree. It's wayyyy worse than before... and it's not the same. I remember the same as you do that a person had to have the available credits or the use of a credit card.
But if I find a new app I'll definitely let you know ☺

So I’m not crazy, lol. The admin said this is how it has been, I’m pretty sure before you had to purchase the credits BEFORE placing a bid, or if you clicked bid it would give you a pop up with the prices of credits. I’ll keep my eye out too, maybe there’s business in coming up with a new site all together ;)

I'm just going to add their names to my auctions as a warning to other listians so at least they will know to block them if they choose too.
I saw another l istian do this and I checked put their feedback and chose to add them to my block list just because I don't want deadbeats bidding on or winning any of my auctions. But unfortunately there are too many.
Hopefully I can help others from having these same probs.

I wish they would go back to the way it used to be, where it only allowed you to bid the amount of credits you actually had. And whatever amount you bid on one auction, that amount was deducted from your available credits until the auction ended or until you were out bid. So say you had 500 credits and bid 300 credits on an auction, that would leave you with 200 available credits to bid on other auctions with...as long as you are the high bidder on that auction, those 300 credits would remain tied up so you couldn't double bid with them. Then when the auction ended, if you won, the credits were automatically transferred to the seller if the seller had the wings. If the seller was new without wings, the credits were still deducted from the winner, but put as "pending" for the seller for so many days before they were released to them. That way, no one bid more than they could pay, and sellers didn't have to wait and hope a winner would pay. And if the winner failed to communicate...if they failed to provide address for shipping, after 10 days the seller got to keep the credits and relist the item. If the admin is telling you that the credit payment situation was always set up this way where you can bid any amount and then you have to actually send the credits to the seller when as auction ends, then it must be a new admin who is unaware of the history of the site and how things used to be. Maybe you should request that they consult with a superior, some one who has more knowledge about the policies from the past as well as the current ones. I have been a member here since 2009 and have seen a lot of changes. Some for the better, others (like the payment policy and the new currency) not so much.

I agree, I’ve been a member since 2011, I had periodic breaks because of a very hectic schedule but when I came back the only thing that had changed was the value of credits. I was being charged 300 for my “time is money perk” and it was on auto pay until my credits ran out and I came back and it was 1,200. I miss when the most confusing thing on listia was being a newbie and wondering why no matter how much you tried everyone was always 1 bid ahead lol! I honestly want to copy and paste your comment in a support ticket I submitted complaining about XNK. Supposedly, it’s going to be similar to bitcoin and you will be able to use it many places, even Facebook marketplace, so they did the switch for money it looks like. :( They don’t even “feature” auctions anymore?!
