FREE SHIPPING! This is a small puzzle box with a hidden latch for hiding stuff like jewelry or money. It has a removable steampunk device that serves to conceal the hole that accesses the metal slotted piece that locks and unlocks it. A cross shaped screwdriver is included for locking and unlocking which can be worn as a necklace. This is a jeweler built device with ten small nuts and bolts that were so small I had to tighten with a pin vise and hemostats. It is built with 1/8" walnut slabs mitered to form a box about 2 1/2" square. It has 2 brass inlay corner protectors on each side and feet made of tin and painted metallic gold. The removable steam punk device is fashioned from the top of a plastic spice bottle painted gold. It has several small antique watch parts, a quartz crystal, wires, and small electronic parts assembled onto a gold painted piece of tin. Thick, see through plastic shields these parts and mounts them to the lid of the spice bottle. Brass offsets attach the tin piece with the important looking steam punk pieces onto the inside of the spice bottle cap, and the whole assembly unscrews and separates from the box.
