Description

The listing, Valuable bird and nature stamps from Iceland has ended.

Here are 3 very nice and quite valuable stamps from Iceland-- two with birds and one with a nature scene. They date to the mid-1960's, so 40-45 years old. They are still on a piece of the original parcel card on which they were mailed.

My mom died last year, and I've been going through some of her old files-- she was a dedicated "saver" of everything... including stamps, because I collected stamps when I was little.

I looked these up in a Scott stamp catalog, and two of them are actually quite valuable. The one with the eagle is Iceland Scott no. 378, and lists for US$ 12.50. The one with the loon is Iceland Scott no. 388, and lists for US$ 5.50. The 3rd stamp is Iceland Scott no. 382, worth 35 cents.

I thought about putting these on eBay to sell, but my mom always gave things away... so in that spirit I'm just going to list them here. However, if you decide to sell them and make money, that's groovy by me.

Pictures show the whole clipping, and then close-ups of each stamp.

Yeah, I like these. I had no idea they were actually worth "real money," usually I thought stamps needed to be over 100 years old to be much valuable.

Somebody messaged me about the stamps being on paper. If you want to take them off, all you'd have to do is put the clipping into some lukewarm water for 5 minutes, and the stamps will separate from the paper. Then you can dry them on a paper towel.
