Questions & Comments
Artificial inflation of the credit is just as damaging as artificial inflation of the dollar. It ruins the economy either way. Hold auctions with a high starting bid in order to have credits to spend on anothers auction is the dog chasing its tail. My auctions start out like always at 100 credits starting bid, if the item I'm auctioning is worth it, members will bid it up because they want it, not because they're told what it's worth via a high starting bid. I'm not going to succumb to the greed not only because I'm not a greedy person but because it's going to ruin this site for the average member. The wealthy and the wannabes seek to take over this site and if it succeeds sobeit but I'm not going to contribute to it.
I do agree, but the only fix is to have an actual credit value set by Listia. I dont think that will ever happen though. So those who want to bid..will...those who dont wont... thats all there is to it.
I have never seen this site say its to offer stuff to people in need...it says it is designed to give things you don't need to earn credits to win stuff you WANT...I doubt anyone who is need would go on listia...they would go red cross, goodwill, etc. This site is bartaring site...and supply and demand run credit values. Sometimes credits are worth a lot and sometimes the items are worth more. When will people get this? You can't get something for nothing in our day (ANYONE WHO READS THIS: feel free to share if you agree with my comments on your auctions)
When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires. Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever. This book is intended for mature audiences I LOVED THEM AND CANT WAIT FOR THE MOVIE TO COME OUT :)
Oh wow. I saw you posted a comment on the last auction for these books and hers were bought with the GIN she had for 25,000. I was excited to see you too would offer them and I can not see your GIN price but I can only imagine if your starting bid is for 30,000. :( I hope the other chick re-list them when she's done. Good luck though.
Good thing you are doing free shipping, if you choose free shipping when you list it must be unconditional.. I will edit the verbage about paypal and shipping. thanks
I have to agree that the starting price and the GIN are a bit rich, but if you can get it good for you! (I say rich because, for example, to purchase these three books used it'd be $28 on Amazon - at 56,000 for a GIN that's equivalent to buying credits at about $140). I'd say if you want to read these you should go to the library... Best of luck to you gunzncalichic!!
I understand where u are coming from...credit values really never stay the same so its hard to guage. I put things on listia mainly to win giftcards...I have four boys lol. I itry to keep the starting prices reasonable. My other auctions prove that. i am not trying to get rich...just get my money back in credits for giftcards. If I thought I could get 30.00 giftcard for less than 30000 credits I would have made the starting bid lower. I really didn't think my auction would cause such a fuss. :) thanks and I love your pic!
Umm hun i just ginned a 40 dollar ebay card for 30,000 credits . (In reference to your comment: "If I thought I could get 30.00 giftcard for less than 30000 credits I would have made the starting bid lower".) But anyways good luck to you and your books hun! Fanned you and watching to see if they get ginned. I just payed 24.95 free shipping for my boxed set on ebay. Heck i may want to list mine after i am done=) But my bids always start at 100 also.
I hear what you're saying, but also heard what others were saying too. We are all here to get a value for our goods so we can turn it around and get other things we need. No worries, I wish you the best with your auction. Thanks, love your pic btw.
