Description

The listing, Vintage Military Jacket has ended.

This vintage military jacket was another estate sale find but unfortunately, no one could tell me anything about it. I think it is WWII or perhaps Korean War era. You can see in some of the pictures that MA Jacobs has been handwritten onto a label, and MJ 0307 JAC as well. I have tried to take clear pictures of what issues were apparent to me: on the left side of the jacket toward the bottom are some holes (I suspect probably from moths) and one on the right side where you see my finger poking through. All the buttons are original and intact, and as are the stripes that are on it. One patch on the left shoulder has been removed (see pictures). This jacket is made of wool . . . very rough and scratchy. It really helps me to appreciate what our military men and women did and still do go through. I do not know the size . . . it isn't labeled. Overall, however, the piece is in good vintage condition: very intact.

Wildman, thank you! I suspected someone would be able to add information to this auction. My grandfather fought in WWI and my dad fought in Korea. It's condition is far too good to be WWI, so I guessed it was one of the other two.

looks like to me to be a wwii 4 pocket jacket there should be a tag with date in one of the pockets or the inside pocket it could be washed out

@wildman105 WWII US Army "Overseas Service" stripes for six months service so that would indicate 18 months overseas.

I do empathize, but this jacket is quite heavy and I just cannot send it for free. Generally I usually pay a third or sometimes a half of what the shipping charges are to be helpful.
