This Stuff is Free Too:
Description
Up for auction is my old HP ZE5600 laptop. Still in great working condition, with a fresh installation of Windows XP Professional SP3.

Only a couple of issues, one being that the battery life is abysmal and pretty much needs to stay plugged in during use. The other is that the left mouse button is rather loose, but still works fine. I'm sure it could be fixed with a little ingenuity. Also, the DVD drive is not original. The original drive stopped reading discs, so my husband replaced it with a working drive just prior to listing.

Specs:

Windows XP Professional SP3
Intel Celeron 2.8GHz
512MB RAM
40GB Hard Drive
15" Display
3 USB inputs
1 Parallel port
1 VGA input
1 S-Video input
WiFi capable
Includes AC adapter and power cord

If the GIN is used OR high bid is 70,000+, not only will I ship for completely FREE, but I will also include a nice Icon laptop bag, as well as a nice Logitech headset which includes interchangeable earpiece covers to suit your preferences.

Please don't ask me to lower the GIN or days, or for free shipping. I'm only asking for the winner to pay partial shipping if the free shipping conditions aren't met, and I don't think $5.00 is too much to ask, especially since it will cost much more than that to ship.

Shipping payment via PayPal only. Listia verified addresses only, without exception. Item will be sent within 7 days of receipt of a verified address w/delivery confirmation.

Any questions, please ask. Have fun, and happy bidding!

Carlybaby, I can think of a few snarky answers to your question, but I'll leave you to re-read the lower end of the description :)

I did a bit of researching. I found that a battery replacement costs between $16 to $57 depending on where you buy it from and with or without 1-year warranty.
I wanted to share this: How To take care your HP Pavilion ZE5600 battery? When using a laptop as a desktop replacement the battery should not be left in for long periods of time. The laptop will over time discharge the battery. Remove the battery, making sure that it is charged to 50% and store it in a dry, warm place. Ensure that it is wrapped protectively and nothing will be dropped on it. The battery should be re-installed every 3-4 weeks and allowed to fully discharge. Leaving a battery in storage for longer than this without using could cause the battery to fully discharge as the circuitry of the battery itself consumes power. Leaving a battery in a laptop while using an electrical outlet for long periods of time will keep the battery in a constant state of charging up and that will reduce the life cycle of the HP Pavilion ZE5600 battery.
I'm watching your auction. Will you send everything needed along with this laptop besides the case and headphones, such as a power cord wall charger or car charger, USB cord, WiFi-enabled card (if this is not built-in already), etc?

looks like my husband answered your question, but I will reiterate. Laptop comes with AC adapter and power cord, WiFi is integrated and does not need a card. That is all the laptop comes with unless GIN is used and then the laptop bag and headset will be included. If GIN is not used and bids get up to 70,000 the bag and head set will be included as well as free shipping.

I hope that answers your questions, have a wonderful day

Do you think laptop can be used for business? ... loose L mouse, doesn't read/write CDs and DVDs, battery is almost dead.

Original
The drive has actually been replaced with one that does work, mouse button functions just fine though is loose, battery is dead though works fine plugged in or you can replace the battery for around $30. Personally unless you are running a simple program for inventory purposes I would not recommend this laptop for business use just because it is an older model and slow compared to todays standards, an update in ram would help with that tremendously though if you aren't opposed to putting money into basically a free computer.

Hope that answers your question.

ChandaMija, since I'm up - I'm also her husband, so not an answer from just some random guy lol - thanks for the tips. Everything needed will be included. Comes with the AC adapter & power cord. Headset and case are GIN items (or 70,000+), but those will get included in the event that GIN is used or bidding gets that high. The laptop also does have integrated WiFi. There's a toggle button on the front of the laptop (blue light in the first pic, toward the right) used to turn it on or off.

As far as a USB cord, there aren't any USB powered items being sent with this as far as I'm aware. I'll leave that one up to her since this isn't my auction.

i remember these, ive had 2 like it.. the battery problem u mentioned.. i dont think any of these left dont have that issue lol..

all in all its a little underpowered to today's standards but this is a very nice built model, you can upgrade the RAM to a max of 1gb (2 x 512 sticks) which isnt too bad if ur not running high demand applications.. im not sure but i would imagine the cpu is soldered to the mobo makin a cpu swap out of teh question.. but all in all worth bidding if u need a machine :) just dont expect to play WoW or D3 lol

I'm always open for free money. If you are referring to the auction, then no. It's worth about $100, plus taking money defeats the entire purpose of doing a Listia Auction. Thanks for your interest.

thats nice, he hopes the bids stay low??. lol must be a newbie lol you answered that perfectly, although I'm a littrle annoyed at that comment & had to put my 2 cents in.. sorry bout that, this is a nice listing, & nice that you & your husband took the time to replace the part that was not working. watching this for now, wish I could save my credits for something good but I cant hold on to them for more then 5 minutes lol fanned ya :-)

Ah, glad you can see the humor as well! It's all in fun :) Thank you so much, I used this for years with an external drive never imagining it would take 5 minutes to put a new drive in lol. Do note it is a used drive, my husband has a small computer repair business and this was a spare part. Works just not new. I get you on the credits, just ended an auction yesterday and the credits are already almost gone lol. Thanks for taking the time to comment, fanning back :)

I dont have paypal
please can you take a moneyorder for the shipping cost ??
Aug 26th, 2012 at 11:07:33 AM PDT by
Original
as long as you have a credit card you can pay via paypal, I would just send you an invoice and you pay through the link. If that is still not possible I can take a postal money order and items will not be sent until I have received and deposited it :) Any other forms of payment would need to be discussed :)

This is a great auction. I have one of these myself and it is a great computer. Upgrading the RAM is not that difficult or expensive, especially since it is a free computer. I loved mine and am watching this one carefully. I wish I had the credits to GIN. I need to set up some auctions fast if I want to get ANYTHING with that GIN, but the GIN is actually a good price to pay. You and your Hubby are great at your description.
Watching and fanned you.
God Bless
