Yes he does. My son is 25 and moved away from me a month after he married, he lives in Oklahoma and I am in California (he was the only child I was ever able to have. I Loved being his Mommy. He and my daughter in law are expecting thier first baby...I cant tell you how often I sob thinking how i want t hold that baby in my arms and be a part of her life. I will be too, just a far away part of her life and it makes me sad. I prayed to be a Mom was blessed with him and oh how I prayed about being a Grandma...never thought I would be the far away Grandma. Makes me so sad.

I understand sweetie...my daughter and her husband moved clear to Missouri...I have only gotten to see my granddaughter a very few times...each time I see her she is like a different child, she is growing and changing so very fast!!! She is 16 months old...she doesn't even remember me from one visit to the next, so we spend most of the time just trying to get her to warm back up to us, and then it is good-bye again for another few months :o( My other two granddaughters live in the same town with us but we don't see them very much either, my son and his wife are busy with college and "stuff"...LOL...but at least we see them enough that they remember us between visits...at least a couple times a month or more...

I also had trouble having children. I had to have surgery to get pregnant at all...prayed so hard for children and was blessed with two birth children (a boy then a girl)...by age 20 I could no longer have children of my own...so I adopted a baby...he will be 14 in a couple of weeks...we also foster and have an 8-year-old foster daughter...so we keep busy :o) on top of that my husband and I are both working on our masters degrees: him in business, me Marriage and Family Therapy...anyway...keep watching my auction listings...the right baby for the right amount of credits just might show up before too long...you never know :o) But if this one doesn't go for the 10,000 or more I doubt it...if that is the case, it will be back to selling them on another site...I can let you know if that is the case...GOD Bless and prayers for a happy, healthy grandbaby!!!

I have been reborning for the past 5 years...started doing it to ease the pain in my heart when we lost a little girl that we were supposed to adopt...at the last minute they sent her back to her momma...it turned out to be the best thing though, she and momma are doing wonderfully and her momma is like a daughter to me now (though they live very far away)...but that loss was one of the hardest of my life...the reborn babies helped to fill the void, and my empty arms during one of the darkest times of my life...

danceswithscissors... I think that is WONDERFUL! One of my babies went to a lady who takes her visiting as well. She once told me that it just makes them all light up and get excited! That alone is worth 10,000+ credits. My grandma is in a nursing home in another state and I dont get to see her as often as Id like but it brings a smile to my face knowing there are people out there who visit and make their day. Sometimes a little love can go a long way in making someones day a little brighter... Ill help ya out and bump it up some... cant go all the way to 12 but hopefully it will help some :)

I made porcelain dolls for a while...had to glue on doll wigs and no matter how good the sculpt or the painting, you just can't make a doll with a wig on it look realistic enough (for me)...I loved making them, and they are a wonderful art that I enjoyed very much (the lady teaching me passed away, so I had to quit making them :o( I wish I could have continued)...the rooted hair is one of the things I love most about reborning...rooting the hair one or two hairs at a time makes it appear to be growing right out of the scalp and truly makes the baby appear to be realistic...but, Porcelain dolls are so beautiful...I still collect them too...and American Girl dolls too...and Barbies (some, not like a REAL collector...LOL)...I just LOVE dollies :o)

Yay... they got up to gettin Baby Johnny... I want his sister to go with him though! I read some of your other posts... I grew up in foster care... and those lifebooks really do give you a sense of belonging. It took 13 years before I ended up in a home that truly accepted me and was willing to work with me.. (I was a child of sever domestic abuse) but my siblings didnt get to come with me and we barely talk today... C'mon people... get up to 12,000 so sissie can go with!

I just watched a wife swap episode where the mom was an avid reborn baby collector. She had a play-date with the reborn babies and their mommies. Although it is a bit eccentric for me, I understand the therapeutic value as well as appreciate the craftsmanship and artisianship that goes into each baby.

You have done an excellent job creating this baby. It truly looks like a fussy baby that needs to be cuddled.

I hope the auction does well for you as the bidder will be getting a tremendous value.

Thank you, I love receiving comments from experts like you...it really boosts my confidence :o) I reborned another one like him and his coloring is (I hope) more that of a baby right after birth...after being wiped off, but before being bathed...that kind of very pale wit a bit more of the vernix and the crown of his head is "bruised" and there is a little spot where his "monitor" was placed under his scalp...I tried very hard to capture what my granddaughters looked like just after birth (except he is a HE...couldn't get the sculpt in a girl, they were sold out)...Johnny I gave more of a "after he pinked up...after he was washed up" look...LOL...Thanks again, your comment truly made my day!!! :o)

They can run from several hundred to several thousand...check them out at other auction sites...it depends on the doll, the artist...and of course, the collectors that are bidding on them :o)

I have done portrait dolls of my granddaughters...If I had more time to reborn I would take custom orders, but I don't have the time right now...if you are interested though, there are several really good artists that do custom reborns...you can do a search on eBay and should be able to find someone who will do a custom doll for a fair price...
