The listing, Orange 100% Wool, 2-Ply Yarn has ended.

The only things I know for sure is what’s written on the small label in the picture; other info are guesses.

Approx. 10 wpi, which would make it between worsted and aran.
One hank is 93g, the other is 111g. (making the hanks approx. between 80 and 95 yards).
This yarn is not soft. You might be able to make it better with lots of hair conditioner.

Would this yarn work for a slouchy beanie or is it too scratchy?

This is a tough question because it's so subjective. It's definitely a coarse yarn. I wouldn't make a hat out of it for a bald person but it's probably OK for someone with hair.
