I am SO tired of being bombarded by this WATCH MY AUCTION stuff. Why do people feel it is OK to randomly advertise in someone else's auction? I don't do it and wish people would stop doing it to me.
sad but true...they literally go right past something that tells them not to do it but they just ignore it. I am so tired of this I am tempted to stop listing for a while after these are all over--I am sick of this :(
F & W. This my first time on you site, it's very nice. I do agree with you from a buyers point of view. When I go to check out a particular auction, I want to see what other people are commenting on or what questions are being asked & answered,,,,,..I don't want to see a page full of other peoples links to their auctions or in Bold word...Watchers Needed. that is not what I'm there to look at, at all!! Wanted to leave my views on the subject. Thanks, Karen
thank you Karen! :) That is a great point. When people flood comments sections with ads, people who are actually here to look at MY items have to sift through a bunch of garbage to try to see if a question they have has already been asked and answered. It is a good reason to hide the comments that are just ads.
Watchers Needed is a pet peeve of almost epic proportions for me at this point. Nobody anywhere ever in the history of the darn universe has ever NEEDED a watchers badge. Want, yes. Desire, ok. Crave, well...rule 34. But NEED? Excuse me? Need is a word to use for sentences like "I need help getting the groceries out of the car." Sorry, I get to ranting. :)
I hear you. It's one thing if they decide to have their own "watchers auction" where they request people to watch their auction and, in return, allow them to advertise in their auction. It's quite another thing to take it upon themselves to advertise their auctions on other people's auction sites. It's really rude when you've asked them not to advertise on your auction and they do so anyway. If it's the same person over and over again, maybe Listia can help stop them from doing it.
Totally! If someone wants to have lots of watchers rather than a few that really want the item, that is totally their business and they can set up their own auctions exactly as they wish (within Listia rules). But expecting others to provide adspace is simply unfair. I do NOT have to be here, giving away fun items to create with...but I really enjoy doing so, so I am hoping something can be done to change the way comments are handled here at Listia.
Perhaps a setting where a seller could mark their comments section as "questions only" or something, to politely but obviously say they don't want to be adspace. But I think I am spending too much time thinking about this and just need to accept it, since startlingly few people read anymore (it would seem!)
Wow some ppl don't take hints, I always read full descriptions and I myself would never advertise on anyone's auctions, I hate that people think it's ok to do so, and by that they take away from others auctions, anyways I am a new fan, lovely auctions you have :)
Glad to meet you!! :). I don't use others auctions to advertise myself and am very confused by why people think they NEED watchers badges... But I suppose I am going to have to find a way not to be bothered by it, since so few people read!! Thanks for being so kind!! :)
beautiful bags. I hope I can win them. I would like to use them for my wedding renewal. Thanks for the auction. If its any consolation I don't think you're being rude and you are entitled to feel how you want to on your own auction sites and people should respect that. Have a blessed day
You're going to get the Watch My Auction mess on almost everything you do. It happens on mine over and over, then I get labeled as rude for telling them to please read my auction rules and so forth. It gets tiring after a while, especially when you've been here for so long
