For anyone interested, the gin is fair if the mystery gift is worth at least $4.19. I did the math:
58,999 x .90 = 53099.1
53099.1 - 48900 (14.90 + 34 = $48.90 = 48900 credits) = 4199.1 credits = ~$4.19.

Also to the auctioner, saying that the gin is fine because everyone else has similar prices does not instill confidence in the bidder. Try to find another way to word it.
