Description

The listing, Sterling December Birthstone Charm has ended.

Up for auction Is a Silver charm, stamped STERLING on back. with a December blue turquoise teal color heart shaped stone In the center. With December imprinted under the stone.

Charm for bracelet most likely, or pendant for necklace maybe if it's thin enough. IM not sure if it would fit on a Pandora bracelet because I don't know the measurements.

Thankyou. Please ask any questions you have.

Blue zircon is the dec. birthstone. Has that changed?

I'm assuming its the December birthstone beings it says "DECEMBER" on it. Its more of a turquoise teal color which I'm pretty sure is considered a December BS color too because its in the color blue family . I know there's not only one exact color like blue zircon, that is used as a birthstone. I see red, Burgundy, maroon all used for January, my birthstone. Thanks.

There's no particular person like a "birthstone president" who picks/changes these colors. There's a particular color for every month that was thought of along time ago & ppl now, mostly jewelry makers pick a color that's newer similar to the original color, since there is so many new colors. I.e instead of just pink, there's now fushcia, hot pink, pale pink, coral pinks & so on. its up to the consumer if they like the "particular" color or not. Thanks!

I think this may be perhaps, a vintage charm, older? I've Seen older ones similar to this one. so that's probably why the blue is darker,. they didn't have all these newer colors back then. & ppl now just prefer blue topaz over other blue colors. that's why it's so popular & many think that can be the only Dec b.s. color out there. its in great condition tho for an antique charm, if it is.

As a December baby, I have my preferences, too. Turquoise was the original December birthstone, and still is in many venues. If you investigate the Birthstone trade, you will find that the stones used today are mainly cheaper stones that are easier to make synthetically. I still prefer Turqoise.

Thank-you! yes that's very true. this is an antique charm, so it's an original, before they had all these synthetic topazes & fakes
