Description

The listing, 1940 German Nazi 50 Reichspfenig Coin has ended.

This is a stock photo of a coin I found in my grandfather's attic (sorry, no camera). I believe it is made of aluminium. Mine is not as good as the representative picture and has a couple of small dents. But the lettering and dates are sharp, as well as clear ridges and the Swastika. No minimum credits needed to bid and afree shipping.

Maybe someone smarter than me can tell me what this is made of. I know it's not copper, brass, nickel, bronze or steel. Aluminium? Zinc?

Yes they were made of an aluminum based metal-to bad this isn't a 1939 one, those are worth about 60 bucks. But, this is only about 3-4 dollars. My daughter studies german and I was bidding on it for her as a keepsake. Thought she would have liked it in her german stocking-lol. Good-luck!!

Ding on of the left shoulder of the bird that can be seen on the flip side. Mark on the "5" can be seen on the flip side. I never looked at this coin so closely -- my eyes are crossed and this is why I don't do coins -- but instead of the "B" under the "50" in the representative photo above, my coin has an "A" under the "50." If that means anything.

OK, I'm not really a coin guy as you could have read by earlier notes. Obviously you know a lot more about coins than I do. I know about United States mint marks Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco. And even New Orleans. But I don't know if the mark "A" and "B" means anything on this coin. What do you think?
