Description

The listing, 25 Kalanchoe, Mother Of Thousand Plantlets has ended.

This auction is for 25 Mother Of Thousand plantlets. Some people call it an Alligator plant, I'm told, but I'm not sure of the exact variety of this Kalanchoe, as I won it here on Listia :)
I do know that it produces LOTS of babies, and is easy to grow.
I'm auctioning 25 of the plantlets this time, instead of the usual 10 that I list, because I'm moving my mother plants out of my sunroom, to their winter spot inside my house, and the lower light conditions may cause her to stop producing plantlets for awhile. Once the "babies" she has on her now are gone, I won't be listing any more until next year.
Photos are of my Mother plant.
If you have any questions, please ask.
Thanks for looking!

How tall does this grow? Can you control it also to be a small desk top plant? Thank you....

My largest one is three feet, and growing, so I know they can reach at least that size. This plant can be pruned at the top, but whenever I have pruned mine, they get several "branches" shooting off of the sides, and produce very few, if any, plantlets. I have also grown these out of direct light, and they don't grow as tall, they sort of "snake" their way towards the light. This is such an odd plant!! I love the many different ways that it looks, depending on it's environment, that I always have several different ones growing at once, in different lighting. The best thing about this plant, is that it produces so many plantlets that you'll always have plenty for experimentation : )

Gee thanks so much for the information. I think they look incredible and my son (who doesn't like plants) likes these! He think they are unusual and he is afraid he'd kill it and I tld him that it's pretty easy to grow by what has been said about them. He is going to bid (if I don't first). Thanks for all the information. I appreciate it....

I send these in a plastic baggie with a little potting soil in the bottom, then in a padded envelope. They will need to be placed in a pot filled with dirt when you receive them. They can all be put in the same pot until they reach a couple of inches in height, but then they will need their own pots, as they grow VERY quickly. I've never had any problems with transplanting them, and I have to do it all the time, as the plantlets pop up and start growing in any of the other houseplants I have too close to "Mama Kalanchoe" !!

I might have more to list later on, but I'm not sure, as she might stop producing plantlets for the winter. Thank you for your good wishes : )
