Questions & Comments
Just wondering where the pins came from and approx. time frame. Directly from Sports Illustrated? (Maybe with magazine subscription?) What is the symbol above the Olympic rings on the pin on right side. Looks like a curving rainbow.
I collect all sorts of pins. I just like to know the backgrounds. Thanks. Lori
HI, I looked on the back of the one pin(the smaller one) and it has USOC 36 and USC 380. it appears to be 1982 as the year and they are made in Taiwan. both new on the card, i had a devil of a time getting the one off the card to read the back so they have never been worn. I assume them to be a bonus for subscribing to the magazine, but I am not sure. neat little find and with the olympics coming up in the Winter 2010 great time to get them!
You had asked about the smaller pin, it's not really a rainbow, it's a swoop like the graphic for a tornado and it's going clockwise in the spin with navy, rea and a golden yellow. hope that helps.
