Condition: Front and back covers of this PAPERBACK have creases, wrinkles, as well as a small tear on the lower right-side border of the front cover. The inside top left corner of the book was written in and marked out as seen in Image 4. All pages in book are in perfect shape, no creasing/tears/pen marks.

Synopsis: It's a new collection of horribilia: chillers, ghost stories, and urban legends, retold in an appropriately matter-of- fact way and illustrated by a master of the macabre. Schwartz gives most of the tales a modern setting, provides hints for storytellers, discusses variants, and--as in two previous collections--appends careful source notes and a good-sized bibliography. My Take: The drawings always amazed me about these books (he wrote several), because the author & illustrator obviously took kids/teens seriously, and weren't afraid to offend (Image 3 for example). There's a great, creepy illustration on about every other page. Great for Halloween, and you will get it in time!
