i dont see why not as long as your postal people will ship it that way. plus they wont have your address so if you have to put something like your state or what not then it should be okay (and we can all just not pry for location info to keep the secret fun?)

WOULD ANYONE BE OPPOSED TO CLOSING SIGNUPS EARLY AND GETTING A JUMP START ON THE SWAP NOW INSTEAD OF WAITING UNTIL NEXT WEEK?

Mail dates would still be the same, but I could get everyone's info swapped tomorrow evening instead of waiting for Sunday unless ya'll think I should wait. There are plenty of people signed up and I will contact the maybe-folks one more time now.

** I am going to close up the registration now and work on pairings. If there is anyone who wants to pick up an extra entry (so we can take a few last minute entrants IF need be) then private message me.

** I need to ask for some HELPERS! I would like to get TWO PEOPLE to help me keep track of everything (so you'll know the secret matches, don't volunteer if you really want yours a total secret!). I am thinking I'll divide the list into 3 - and each 3rd will report to one of us weekly, say over the weekends, telling us what all they got from their match (TAKING SUGGESTIONS: how do we best keep track of this? just tally up the number of things they get since some are not using credits? In which case just report the number of things that arrived?) Basically its for A) the contest and B) to make sure everyone gets the minimum required in the swap.

There are 26 people involved so I am thinking I'll take 10 and then give my 2 helpers 8 each. You will each know who to report to. Hmmmm actually this means that you CAN keep it (mostly) secret b/c I won't include yourself on your list ;-)

Basically just wanting to not get overwhelmed with how many messages I'd get - that tends to overstress me when I see pages full of emails. I love them, don't get me wrong - just want this to go smooooothly.

Unless I'm stalled for whatever reason, matches will be sent out sometime TODAY!

I mean that each person in the swap - all 26 entries - will know who to report to. we all will do a little work/extra so no one does too much. My helpers will be keeping track and reporting to me - BUT EACH PERSON INVOLVED will be writing to us (me or a helper they are assigned to) weekly. Okay, that sounds better.

Good morning, everyone! I hope you are all having a nice New Years Day :)

I have been thinking about some new things for the swap to enhance it (without confusing it any, of course) and one idea that came to mind was promoting each others listings on here. Not random plugs-for-bids, but posting when we have things Secret Pals might like - so we can not only be swapping with each other but ALSO be helping each other out with credits!

More ideas: Can offer to trade things for your matches, if you are among the people who are mailing. You have the list above of all entrants, so you can always contact each other with ideas, for help, to get things for your match, and so forth.

For example - I can't offer to ship anything more than a stamp. BUT I can offer things like a nice piece of pen & ink artwork (if your match is a child who likes a certain character or if they have special likes like cats, characters, etc). Then I am not expecting anyone to ask for payment (unless possibly shipping) - but in this case, I'd send your match the artwork and you would in turn send something to my match. All done in secret of course ;-)

I also COUPON tons and can offer to send envies of NON INSERT coupons, including a free one or two, to your match (I noticed coupons were on a few wishlists and since we can't get anything but free on here, I thought I would offer). For this I would also ask something sent to my swap in return, like an envie of other stuff they like (scrapbooking, stickers, etc - light to ship stuff).

FEEL FREE TO POST OFFERS/IDEAS/LISTINGS, EVERYONE!!
I think it would be neat to help each other out throughout the swap too!

I have a ladies mystery box on right now which would be great for anyone who is "shopping" for a woman (just a few hints on here since you have a list of what your match wants but don't mention these hints on the auction LOL) There are full size bath and body products, books, a romantic comedy DVD (used but works perfectly), stand alone mirror, and tons more! I want to join also, but have questions. Since I can only do a min people right know and not my whole family, I was woundering if we can spilt people up, Like the 1st week my oldest son gets a gift, the 2nd week my other son gets a gift and so on so each child would have 1 gift? I am defintly signfing myself, the baby & my daughter up, but would like to switch my sons around since they ike mostly the same things. When is the deadline to get this in? Sun2: Must have WISHLIST + FORM back to me by the afternoon
Sun2: Everyone will get their secret person to send to and all their info/wishes

I'm calling it the January Listia Shower swap because in essence, we will all be showering our matches with LISTIA gifts. We will not have them sent to us then pay to mail them, wrap them, etc. We get them straight from Listia members and then they mail to our matches.

Its a shower - shower your people with AS MUCH AS YOU WANT! Minimum will be 1 per week, as shown below and its all that you are expected to send BUT can always do more if you can and/or want to.

by fri7th: at least 1st gift purchased by now
by fri14th: at least 2nd gift purchased by now
by fri21st: at least 3rd gift purchased by now

There will have to be some ground rules so it all works smoothly.....

1) WHO YOU BUY FROM....VERY IMPORTANT!:

I have NOTHING against newbies but ONLY buy your three main things from reputable sellers where you have no doubt they will promptly ship their item. ALSO make sure they can write something about it being from your "January Secret Shower Swapper" somewhere in or on the package. THIS IS A MUST to keep track! BEG them if you've gotta lol but I have NEVER met a seller who wouldn't do this. Some will even wrap for ya at no extra cost ;)

2) WHAT YOU BUY / CREDIT AMOUNTS / HOW MANY THINGS:

The minimum to get your person is THREE things, 1 WON no later than Friday of each week (for 3 weeks). So you can shop for them all week long for the best deal, the ideal item, your choice. The fun part is that you can SHOWER them with things all month if you choose - it doesn't have to be just 3 things....you can keep a list of what they like and then scout the site as you please for deals all month long. THE MINIMUM IS THREE THINGS, but send as much as you think you'd like to get!

ALSO if you so desire you CAN send things to them yourself - like a end of the month nice gift you have stockpiled that they wish for, some nifty cheap to ship things (like notes with clues or stickers or whatever - keep your costs cheap!), or even any of your 3 main gifts. My idea is to keep it 100% free but you are not required to do via listia if you don't wanna. You can also send digital things to them through me or someone else - like Coke Cap Codes, Dr Pepper Codes, PopTart Codes, etc - especially if they're on a wishlist!

4) REPORTING TO ME:

Report to me when you finalize a purchase on here , and know the seller has sent it (or is about to send it, etc). I will keep track b/c it must be the 3 minimum.

THERE WILL ALSO BE A BRAG LIST setup in the form of a coke code listing (as usual for me now lol) where people can post when they get things from their secret swapper, and thank them there.

5) CREDIT AMOUNTS: I have no idea if I should set an amount (for the 3 mandatory gifts) or if I should just leave it be and let everyone make their own choices. I think ideally we could get our matches 1 nice thing each week and then some smaller ones in between to make it even nicer for them. I know some have more credits than others, but lets try and keep it in the spirit of giving, fun, kindness, etc.

6) HOW MANY YOU CAN SIGN UP:

You can sign up as many people (or animals) or as few as you want (even just 1). You will have the same number of people to "buy" for too, so remember to keep that in mind and only take on as much as you can handle. You can do AS MANY AS YOU CHOOSE and I will make matches fun, fair, and a neat secret. No pairs - a real secret til the end this time! Signups may be yourself, your child or kids, your special someone, your pet, your mom, etc. You can even sign youself or someone else up for more than one match (but remember, you gotta send to that many too!).

7) WISHLISTS:

Please make your wishlists LONG and DETAILED! They were soooo short mostly for the Christmas swap. Remember - this is NOT a "must get me" list - its a WISH list...things you wish for.....go for anything from "anything with frogs" to specific like "BBW hand sanitizer, prefer floral scents" - make it an array of values, no matter how high or low. THE MORE THE BETTER - make HUGELY long if you can!!
