Description

The listing, Bachmann Electric Train Set has ended.

This is for an entire Bachmann Train Set. This is a hobby train and NOT a child's toy. These are the types of electric trains you see at malls. hobby shows, and Christmas events. Bachmann Trains have been the quality leader in hobby train making since 1833. This train set cost well over $100 dollars. We've had it for 10+ years. It includes the engine and 6 cars, 12 pieces of curved track, 3 pieces of straight track. and the electric motor. It does need some repairs. I believe the electric motor is out again (we've repaired it twice in the past and it cost about $30 for the part from the Bachmann website), a few of the wheels are off (quick pop back in place fix) and there were a couple of other loose pieces in the box I have not had a chance to investigate where they belong. My son has just decided to put his time and money into other hobbies, but this is an awesome electric train set! I'll ship it free in the US, but it's heavy, so please bid fairly. I'm starting the bid at 100 to help cover shipping.

BTW - Noticed another train auction people felt was a scam. I promise you mine is not! I'm a trusted seller. If you look at my other auctions you'll see the pics were taken on the same carpet as all my other auctions. My son just wants things he no longer uses out of his room, and we do not know any other train collectors locally.

Thanks. You should get it for him :-) My son liked them for a while but is into the handpaint miniatures now, like for Dungeons and Dragons games and such.

International shipping is a hassle and expensive. You have to deal with customs declarations, etc.

Didn't realize customs declarations were required. Thanks for the tip!

For international shipping, the only thing that filling out a customs form entails is listing what is in the package, an estimation of the value, and whether it is a gift or something else. "Gifts" are not subject to customs fees, but if it is marked as "merchandise" or some of the other options. it may be if customs chooses to inspect it. But the customs forms for international packages are not really that much of a hassle.

Thanks for the info. Guess all items here are considered gifts as they are all free?

You're welcome. And yes, you could say that. lol Marking it as a gift would just be helpful to the recipient to avoid additional fees.

International shipping can be expensive, but it depends on the weight and size of the package. This train would most likely be expensive to ship internationally. But smaller, lighter packages aren't too bad. The bubble mailers are probably the cheapest way to ship, if it's something that will fit in one of those.

Thanks. I've started using more bags and bubble mailers for domestic. Esp. for media or small items. They are a bit cheaper to mail. But I also have access to all the free boxes I can carry from the back of a local big box store. Hard to justify the cost of buying bubble mailers vs free boxes and free brown paper grocery bags. I call it my "recycling program". :-) Maybe I'll give inernational a shot on something smaller, but not this train.
