How far do they each, like in feet?

Not really sure. They are FM, so it could be a very long ways. Is based on interference and such. Not many people use this range of FM anymore, so in most places interference is less. We've used them out at my Mom's place in the country for almost a 1/4 of a mile with no interference. They have worked for us camping at about the same distance. We live in town (next door to a HAM radio tower) and sometimes they get scratchy on us if we use them inside from one end of the house to another. Other times they work great at home. Just depends.

Another cool feature on these is the call button. So even if there is too much interference for a clear conversation, you press the call button and the mate will make a beeping noise. Then whoever has the other set knows to call you on the cell or come see what you need. We used them that way a few times within the neighborhood to call the kids inside for dinner. LOL

Yes, depending on where you are, their channel, and how far from you. Google 49MHz. This was FM radio in US before it got moved to 88MHz and up. Now it's walkie-talkie, radio controlled toys, some older corldess phones, and some military comm. Won't pick up trucker on CBs. That's 27MHz range, I believe. Was told that in New Zealand these would get TV audio on ch 1-3.
