Description

The listing, Fishing Yo-Yo - Spring Loaded Automatic hook set device! Set it and forget it! has ended.

Let me start by saying I have many of these, have used them many times, and Ive caught plenty of fish with them. Not just Catfish, but Crappie, Gar, Bass, Bluegill, Sandies, Carp and Drum. And a few turtles!

It has been sitting in a tacklebox, so It doesnt look "new", even though it is. Does show some general wear and scuffs from the box, but nothing that impacts the performance at all. Its mostly the metal oxidizing, I believe.

This is a spring loaded length of string with a swivel on the end which you rig with a length of fishing line and whatever bait you choose. As you can see in the photo, you pull out the string and it locks the line in a groove on the yo-yo.You then attach the yo-yo to whatever you can secure it to. Make SURE you secure it good, cause Ive lost a couple of them to big fish =)
Once the fish bites the bait, the tug unlocks the latch, and the reel automatically winds the line back in, setting the hook on the fish in the process. It doesnt work EVERY time(what hook set does?), but it works enough to be fun!

It is VERY cool when you catch one..and just about every kid I've ever fished with has had a blast using them. Setting them is as easy as can be. Securing them is fairly easy too. I use a length of wire and twist it around something, personally. But you can just tie it to a branch that hangs over the water with some string, even.

Fishing season is right around the corner!
Good luck and feel free to ask any questions.

Hi, Just showed the you tube video to my boyfriend. He is an avid fisherman. I have placed a bid but am wondering if you are planning to put more of these up for auction? This is definatly something he doesnt have and beleive you me he has everything, He fishes at the lakes around where we live (Calif.) and he actually became animated at seeing the video. Lol. Love your description by the way, easy to read and understand.

Thank you! Yeah, I might be listing a few more of them, depending on how this auction goes. I think I've got about a dozen of them in my catfish tackle box. I am sure your boyfriend would have a blast using the yo-yo...they really are fun, and if you are in ear-shot when it goes off, you can hear the snap and a "wizz" sound as it winds back into the spool. Its a real kick..Good luck and thanks for the nice comment =)

Wow, I remember using these as a kid. They work great, you have listed a good item. I would bid on it, but the state of Texas outlawed these years ago. Super auction though! Good luck!

Wow, really? Why in the world would they make these illegal? Its not like its some 56 hook trot line, or something...Ah well, Thanks for the comment and too bad you cant bid. They really are neat and (in my opinion) totally harmless...
