I have 10 Purple Butterfly Bush Seeds for bids... On my last visit to the Island a about a week & a half ago I noticed the Butterfly Bush/Tree in the park finally seeding... I have been waiting for this moment all year lol So I grabbed a few to share with you all!! I have not grown any here at my house so far but my mother has them all around her house & they are simply beautiful & to watch the butterflies & humming birds surround them are just breath taking!!! I am starting seeds in pots and plan on training some of mine into trees instead of letting them bush out into their natural shape of a bush... I have did research for those who don't know much about them...
This sun-lover blooms are a breath taking brilliant purple. From midsummer until frost, butterfly bush earns its name as hordes of winged beauties flit from flower to flower in search of nectar. The lanceolate leaves are 10 to 12 inches long and white or grayish underneath. The honey-scented flowers are deep brilliant purple flowers and grow in spikes, from July to October.
This plant and its hybrids attract butterflies and bees greatly and are valuable shrubs for town and suburban gardens and for seaside planting.
