I have 10 mixed Hosta seeds from 2010. I live in Zone 6 & mine have showed to do best in partial shade/ Shade. Well drained soil. Very little upkeep. I ship in USA only no exceptions. Yes I have mine around my pine trees but I added about 8-10 inches of fresh compost I made myself. Also I cleared all pine needles away from the area before I prepared my new flower bed

I never had any problem. I sow them in a herb dish on top of the soil wet it really well and covered it with clear lid. I also keep out of direct sunlight usally on counter top near my cook stove and keep it moist and recover immediately after watering. Germanation starts within few days to 10 days. Then I separate them about 3 weeks transplant and recover soil keeping moist because sometimes some are late starters

This is great info! I had some that I brought home to SC from WI and they had a rough time transplanting. Hopefully they come up again this year. Starting from seeds would be great!
