Offered is another original 7/8" World War II era sales tax token of 2 mills found among my collection of sales tax tokens.

It appears to be made of solid multi layered dark red brown color compressed paper or hard cardboard.

This coin like numbered 2 sales tax token was used as change during sales tax transactions in Colorado.

Colorado had a 2 percent sales tax from 1935 until 1945. These 2 mill tokens were used when tax was less than a penny. For example if a purchase was made for less than 49 cents the tax of less than one cent would be paid with these state tax tokens rather than US issued coins.

The tokens were typically issued in aluminum or plastic so this paper type mucilage compressed combination might be less common; although other Listians more knowledgeable might comment on this.

It has five concentric circles in the middle and reads COLORADO RETAIL TOKEN SALES TAX on each side with the number 2 at 3 and 9 o'clock.
