Up for auction is this lovely stamped sterling silver wedding ring set size 9. The large, lovely blue tanzanite of the engagement ring is radiant and flanked by three round cut amethysts. Thirteen small amethyst gems encircle the front of the wedding band. The tanzanite is the birthstone of December and the amethyst is the birthstone of February.

These gemstones are lab created, but their properties, chemical, optical and physical, are identical to that of naturally occurring stones. Of course, they are much less expensive than those from the ground.
Man made gems are much hardier than their naturally occurring cousins, not so subject to temperature change, drying out, cracking or grazing. They can be, however, as expensive as the natural stone, due to the long growing process (up to 2 years!).
