The listing, Estate Sale Treasure - Grandmother's Beloved Cookbook has ended.
I found this cookbook at an estate a few years ago in my town. It belonged to an elderly grandmother and it was haphazardly placed with all the other books that were for sale. I knew there had to be a mistake so I asked the family running the sale if they wanted to keep it and they said 'No, that's why we have the internet.' Hearing that hurt my heart for the lady, even though I never knew her, because it is very apparent how much she enjoyed writing down her favorite recipes and placing her favorite newspaper recipe clippings inside. It saddens me the family didnt want to keep such a loving memory of her as a memento. The book itself is obviously old and the binding has been reinforced with duct tape but it has such character. The pages are delicate but most are in very good condition. On many of the recipes and clippings she writes her own review and notes what changes were necessary. There are also some cardboard type cutouts in there, like from the side of a cereal box.
