This may appear to be a stupid question, but I have seen [apparently adjustable] buttstocks which were actually fixed and not adjustable. Is this one truly adjustable?

yes this is adjustable. there is a button you press that moves it up and down the tube.

it dose have postions that it locks into. you have to find the best one that makes you comfortable
