The listing, 1 Austrian 1780 Thaler Coin ( 20yo+ Restrike)FREE SHIPPING has ended.

This was given to me over 20 years ago by a wonderful acquaintance I met in DC while living there. One of the mostly minted coins in the world it has a great history to it. The edge of coin is decorated with the words "iustita et clementia" this was originally done to these type coins starting back in 1780 to deter people from chipping of the coin decreasing the value in weight. It has been reminted all over the world with a frozen date (1780). This is not pure silver but does contain silver and can't say how much.

Man I would give you the coin for that old fashion plant tool if you would consider that otherwise I will try bidding then reauction some of the spoons Just thought I would ask

Yes totally aware of the restrike That was why I did not make a claim when it was made but that it was at least 20 yrs old. Do you know what year it might have been struck. It is nice and weighs 30grams 40 mm. I always thought it was all silver but it is not, I recent realized that! It is very nicely detailed yet without any wear and a nice antique finish done to it

Lol.... you are a very funny guy.....lmao.... I am Not sure a lot of the restricts were actually struck a long long time ago way more than 20 years ago.... I would have to do a little research.... I am curious if you don't mind sending me a private message just out of curiosity that little gardening tool what do you think it would go for on a cash auction.... not that I would ever do anything stupid or dishonest I am just very curious because I had no idea it was something cool! Thx

It's really hard to say plant people are hardcore bidders on eBay especially if no one else has the item up for bid or it is rare and I checked no one does. I recently seen a rare cactus go for 53.30 in a 4in pot! I don't know when that tool was manufactured either or what it is made of. How did you obtain it ? With the spoons ?

This is a very famous and significant coin called the Maria Theresa Thaler. It was accepted in Africa and the Middle East as an alternative currency. Millions have been struck at mints all over Europe since the originals were made in 1780. They are not rare.
