Offered is an original home front World War One lithographed FOURTH LIBERTY LOAN 5/8" pinback button.President Woodrow Wilson kicked off the Fourth Liberty Loan to fund the War Sep 28, 1918. The Fourth Liberty Loan offered $6 billion in bonds at 4.25 percent.
This 93 year old button was patented JAN. 1917 and manufactured by J. L. Lynch Chicago, ILL. as noted on the gold colored reverse metal. Bottom curl reads: DESIGN REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.
According to Wikipedia the Fourth Liberty Loan was issued September 28, 1918.
This pinback button would have been worn by those who contributed and purchased the Liberty Loan bond or were supporters.
