I remember we had a "mutual fanning" for the Moody Blues box set I auctioned. You have good taste in music :-)

Indeed, we did. You obviously have good taste in music, too. lol In the late 1970's or early 1980's, I saw The Moody Blues in concert (they'd been apart for a long time at that point) and their special surprise guest was Jimmie Spheeris, so that was a real treat - if you've never heard him, check out his "Isle of View" release, for sure - it came out in 1971 - one of my favorite songs from it is "I Am the Mercury:. I've loved Sweet Baby James for years, but haven't been able to catch him in concert, except on tv and YouTube. I saw a few clips of him and Carol King touring together. Two of my other favorites got together for a duets cd and then went on tour together - Emmylou Harris and Mark Knopfler. I saw Emmylou in concert, but not Mark Knopfler, with or without Dire Straits. I was privileged to have been aware of some of the greats early on, because of my older sisters, but I definitely had my own discoveries, too. Hopefully, I'l be able to keep my credits high enough to win this one. I went broke the last time. I'm outta here for now. Have a great Sunday. We're expecting more snow. Yippee. lol

Here ya go. Sadly, he died in 1984 - hit by a drunk driver. He put out about 5 albums, I think.

"I Am the Mercury" by Jimmie Spheeris.

Indeed. Here's a couple more links for your immense enjoyment. As I've taken up too much space on your auction, I shall message you some more. I'm a "former" college librarian - and a published poet, let alone a lifelong music lover. In fact, my mother (a professional cook and an exemplary artist) bought my very first record for me. It was Rod Stewart's "Every Picture Tells a Story", before Ron Wood left to join The Rolling Stones, and I've loved the mandolin ever since. I told my mom it was all her fault I'm a rock 'n roller - although, thankfully, not so much a headbanger. lol (I got her to like Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" a lot.) Still, I do like my heavy metal, too - like AC/DC, etc. Also, Led Zeppelin, who I saw in concert in 1977 and Rush, who I finally saw in April 2008. As I said, I was privileged to have grown up with these amazing groups playing the soundtrack of my life. Here are several more, with more to follow in your message inbox.

Dire Straits - seven albums (5:05:02)

"Stairway to Heaven" - Heart with Jason Bonham on drums, from the Kennedy Center Honors event. They are the only people who could possibly do this song justice - Robert has tears in his eyes and John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page are rocking out, grinning from ear to ear.

Enjoy (as if you'd have a choice. lol)
